why become a club member?

Joining Parazone club is much more than just access to facilities: it’s becoming part of a community of enthusiasts who care about free flight, site respect, and knowledge sharing.

Born from the desire to create a welcoming, safe, and supervised environment, the club aims to provide a setting conducive to learning, progression, and the joy of flying—regardless of your level.

By becoming a member, you support the development of infrastructure, site maintenance, and the organization of community activities. You also help preserve sustainable access to one of the most beautiful playgrounds for paraglider pilots in Quebec.

Registration fees and membership types

Autonomous Pilot

(P2/D2 or higher)

You must have a valid HPAC number to proceed with registration.

Aspiring Pilot

(P1/D1 or lower)

You will need the name of the pilot sponsoring you as well as their HPAC number.

Takeoff & Landing

Here is information about Parazone’s takeoff and landing sites

West Landing – 620 rang de la Montagne
  • 1.0-hectare grass landing area for winds ranging from Southeast to Northeast.
  • 1-hectare semicircular grass landing area at the bottom of the training slope.
  • nearly 3-hectare grass training slope for winds ranging from Southeast to Northeast.
  • landing area and training slope accessible at all times.
  • inflation area and instructions at the landing area, training slope, and bottom of training slope.
  • large private parking lot accessible from January 1 to December 31 from sunrise to 2 hours after sunset.
  • water point on the right side of the barn at 625 rang de la Montagne.
  • chemical toilet in the center of the barn at 625 rang de la Montagne.
North Landing – 1640 Haut de la Rivière Sud in St-Pie de Bagot (Mr. St-Jean)
  • nearly one-hectare grass landing area.
  • no parking.
  • vehicle with ParaZone sticker may pick up pilots near the landing area only if it can do so without damaging the ground.
  • other vehicles must remain near the road.
  • landing area accessible at all times.
East Landing – across from 1440 grand rang St-Charles in Saint-Paul-d'Abbotsford
  • over half-hectare grass landing area.
  • no parking.
  • vehicle with ParaZone sticker may pick up pilots near the landing area if it can do so without damaging the ground.
  • other vehicles must remain near the road.
  • landing area accessible at all times.
  • do not pack under the trees (neighbor), use the space behind the old barn.
South / West / Northwest / East Takeoff
  • takeoff area in all wind directions.
  • takeoff area accessible by shuttle from May 1 to November 30.
  • accessible to vehicles with ParaZone sticker only.
  • parking limited to 60 minutes.
  • no exclusivity for vehicle stickers.
  • vehicles with stickers are authorized to transport other pilots with or without compensation.
  • vehicles with stickers must be 4×4.
  • the sticker must be displayed on the front windshield or hung from the rearview mirror.
  • the sticker is valid from May 1 to November 30
  • vehicles must not damage the roads.
  • Restriction: takeoffs are accessible on foot but the member must wear the numbered ParaZone Inc. scarf so that property owners can identify ParaZone Inc. members.
Landing outside ParaZone landing zones

Accident/Incident Report to HPAC

If you have an accident or incident while practicing free flight, please complete an accident/incident report to HPAC.

Rules and conditions

  • All pilots must be insured through HPAC.

  • You must have read and accepted the flight site regulations.

  • The site is on private property, access is reserved for authorized members.

  • You are not authorized to fly until your registration has been confirmed.

Member and visitor responsibilities
  • Anyone on ParaZone Inc.* facilities must have completed the registration form and possess an active membership or active visit. This applies even for all activities outside of free flight.
  • A tandem flight passenger must be a member/visitor as Aspiring Pilot. Fees are paid by the tandem pilot.
  • The aspiring pilot must be under the supervision of an HPAC-certified instructor during mountain flights.
  • Each autonomous pilot may sponsor up to 5 aspiring pilots for membership. An agreement with ParaZone Inc. is required thereafter.
  • All commercial activities are prohibited without an agreement with ParaZone Inc. (Training, Equipment sales, solicitation, tandem offers, food, beverages, etc.).
  • Anyone wishing to offer a shuttle service to ParaZone Inc. takeoffs must have a sticker in the name of ParaZone Inc. See Pricing – Vehicle sticker.
  • Dogs are prohibited on the facilities.
  • All takeoffs are accessible on foot, but the member must wear the numbered ParaZone Inc. scarf so that property owners can identify them as ParaZone Inc. members/visitors.
  • West Landing The large parking lot is accessible from January 1 to December 31, from sunrise to 2 hours after sunset. There is a gate/rope to access the landing area and the training slope. Close the gate if you are the last person on the site. Despite the road leading to the wind machine at the foot of the training slope, vehicle access is prohibited. Please leave your vehicle in the parking lot.
  • North Landing Only vehicles with a ParaZone sticker may pick up pilots near the landing area if they can do so without damaging the ground. No parking. Other vehicles must remain near the road.
  • East Landing – Only vehicles with a ParaZone sticker may pick up pilots near the landing area if they can do so without damaging the ground. No parking. Other vehicles must remain near the road. Do not pack under the trees (neighbor), use the space behind the old barn.
  • Landing outside ParaZone Inc. landing zones around Mont Yamaska –

– Notify the landowner.
– Remain courteous.
– Assess damages with the landowner if applicable. Notify ParaZone Inc. (579-520-7272).
– Contact 911 if there is a problem or if you think there will be a problem.
– For statistical purposes, send information (date, time, and location) by email to info@parazone.com.

  • After verbal notice and written notice, failure to comply with regulations results in the expulsion of the member or visitor as well as cancellation of their membership or visit, without refund.
  • Note that when an autonomous pilot sponsors an aspiring pilot, the autonomous pilot is responsible for them. Thus, if the aspiring pilot does not comply with regulations, it results in their expulsion, but this will also be the case for their sponsor. Both memberships will be canceled, without refund.

ParaZone Inc. facilities include the private parking lot, the landing area, the training slope, the landing area at the bottom of the training slope, the emergency landing area at 585 rang de la Montagne, the NORTH landing area, the EAST landing area, the SOUTH, WEST, NORTHWEST, and EAST takeoff areas.

Shuttle service

ParaZone shuttles provide convenient access to the various takeoffs of Mont Yamaska between May 1 and November 30. All takeoffs remain accessible on foot at all times.

Only 4×4 vehicles with an official ParaZone sticker or belonging to ParaZone Inc. may access takeoffs and landings. No other vehicles are tolerated, whether to drop off a pilot or park along the way.

Main shuttle – Ford Transit 4×4

  • 11 passengers

  • Hang glider support + roof ladder

  • Storage for paragliders and harnesses

Secondary shuttle – Ford F-150

  • 5 passengers

  • Storage for paragliders (no hang glider support)

Schedule

Departures are on demand, with 3 passengers minimum. Arrive 15 minutes early.

10:00 AM – 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM – 2:30 PM – 4:00 PM – 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM

If no passenger is present 10 minutes before the scheduled time, the departure is canceled.

Route

The choice of takeoff is made by the majority of pilots or instructors. The shuttle waits 15 to 20 minutes at the takeoff before going back down.

  • EAST Takeoff: descent to EAST landing, then stop at NORTH landing

  • NORTH Takeoff: descent to NORTH landing, then return to WEST landing

  • Other requests outside the route: fees equivalent to 3 rides

Equipment rental

We rent equipment directly at the vineyard—convenient and immediate. Rates are posted on site and may vary depending on equipment and duration of use. Limited quantities, first come, first served; a piece of identification and/or a refundable deposit may be required.

Administration fee for unauthorized flight

Administration fee: $150 plus taxes

An administration fee will be charged if a pilot or person uses ParaZone Inc. facilities without having previously completed their registration and signed with a witness the ParaZone Inc. waiver, release of liability, and assumption of risk document. Registration must be verified and approved by ParaZone Inc. before use. Allow a few days for the review, approval, billing, and payment process to be completed.

In the event that the person wishes to become a member, only the annual membership is available.
