Mont Yamaska Airspace
Airspace classes you need to know
As a pilot, it is essential to be familiar with the airspace around Mont Yamaska—both for takeoffs and landings and for cross-country flights.
Three classes are relevant in the region:
-
Class G: Uncontrolled. Free flight is permitted.
-
Class E: Controlled. Free flight is permitted under certain conditions.
-
Class F: Special use. It may be controlled or uncontrolled and often serves as advisory airspace to inform other pilots of our presence.
Important: Mont Yamaska is located primarily in Class F, which becomes Class G when activated—allowing free flight without restriction.
Free flight in Class E: mandatory conditions
Free flight in Class E airspace (above 700 feet AGL) is permitted if you meet all of the following conditions:
-
Be 16 years of age or older

-
